I’m 15 weeks today! I’m excited to be in the second trimester and am definitely feeling a little bit better. It’s crazy to think I’m in the mid teens now. In just 5 weeks, I’ll be halfway done, but it feels like I’ve barely begun!
How I’m feeling: Overall, very good. Noticeably better than I did throughout the first tri, but I do not have the energy I was expecting. I think I just have to get over that I will not have my pre-pregnancy energy back for a while now. I don’t feel totally exhausted but still get tired if I am standing or moving around a lot. I cleaned for about 45 minutes on my feet in the house the other day and was like whoa, I gotta sit down. And then I took a 2 hour nap!
Weight gain: haven’t checked, but I expect it to speed up a little now that I’m in the second tri.
Maternity Clothes: still loving them. Not in maternity tops yet so I’m trying to make the most of my regular tops for now.
Last week I mentioned that I got a bunch of maternity clothes from a co-worker. And I mean a bunch! She worked through all 3 of her pregnancies, so she had lots of professional and nice stuff! I got so lucky. Of the stuff she gave me, here’s some of my favorites.
2 full-panel skirts, skinny jeans from Old Navy (so comfy) and some belly bands (one in white, not pictured).
I LOVE wearing the jeans with the belly band. I didn’t think I would be a fan of full-panel stuff, but it’s the best. It makes me “look” more pregnant and round instead of weird-shaped in this not-so-pregnant yet stage.
She also gave me 4 nice dresses, all from Motherhood Maternity.
Here’s one that I was thinking of wearing tomorrow with leggings and boots for work.
The other day I was on a walk with my husband and I said, “Weird, these pants seem SO tight on my belly but I didn’t even wash them.” He politely replied, “I don’t think it’s the pants, sweetie.” I am definitely more into all maternity clothes that are not pants. Pants do not seem to be my friend. It’s weird to get bigger even the littlest bit each week!
Sleep: Sleep is hit or miss. I am sleeping a lot still. But a lot of the time, I am tossing and turning all night and getting up multiple times.
Fitness: This week has been a lot better! I have been more interested in fitness lately, and this was the first week that I felt like I had a workout routine back. I am actually so much more interetested in fitness that I decided I’d try running again this week, but of course, it’s been pouring and super windy every day. So mabye I’ll try on the weekend.
So far, I’ve gone on a 2 mile walk, did this awesome Tabata workout from Heather (so sore now!), and walked for a half an hour at an incline. And I’m not exhausted. It feels great.
Gender: I will be doing a gender reveal next Friday Keep the guesses coming!
Craving: bread, obviously from this weeks rolls post! I could eat carbs all day. But other than that, nothing really.
Food aversions: I am not interested in chicken, although it’s not super gross like some pregnant women say it is to them. Red meat seems really hard for me to digest lately, so I think I will be avoiding that from now on. Other than that, nothing really. Food seems a lot more “normal” and appetizing now.
Items for Baby Bee: So far, this kid is accumulating the stuff quickly! We have already gotten a few gifts, all of which are toys.
My mom bought us the Sophie teether because I said I really wanted it (they’re supposed to be awesome), my friend sent us the bumble bee, and another friend gave me a whole bag of stuffed animals. I’m pretty sure this baby is already spoiled!
So far, we haven’t really bought anything, besides the onesie in our announcement photo, though.
Missing: not having to eat constantly or as soon as I feel hungry, doing a real abs workout
Most looking forward to: getting a bigger baby belly, sharing our gender reveal, & feeling the baby move!
