2013 Blogging in Review

As you may have noticed, I took some time yesterday to update the look of my blog just a bit. As I was spending some serious time poking around my blog, I got the inkling to look back through my posts of 2013.

I decided not to go the traditional route of recalling all I did in 2013 because it just doesn’t strike me as really interesting at the moment. Although my blog is now a year and a half old, it was last January that I really started putting my blog out there and investing time into this place I call my own. So in a way, I consider January my one year blogging anniversary since it’s been a year since I got serious about blogging.

I can tell you, a lot has changed in a year! There’s been a lot of growth, experimenting, and a lot of enjoyment that I’d love to share with you.

I’m surprised that Facebook is even on the list, as it’s usually the lowest referrer ever.

Google Reader going away seriously was the best thing that ever happened to my blog because now everyone reads it through Blog Lovin! Before Google went away, I barely got any traffic from readers like that. (P.S. You can subscribe here.)

I enjoy all of your post, but I don’t know if you realize this or not, but your “Blog – How To” posts were so helpful to me as a new blogger. I pinned them to my Pinterest blog board for future reference. Your post about backing up your blog was so important and timely. I’d been trying to figure out how to do it, and your post explained it and made it so easy! Thank you!

  14. My blof turned 1 on January 1. I too did not want ot rehash 2013 or do a traditional blogiversary giveaway. I’m still trying to find my blogging niche. I’m looking into becoming self hosted as well as getting someone to kick it up a notch with a new look. I’m going to make my blog about my life, running and the journey I’m taking to improve it. Thank you for your help and guidance.
