I promise I wasn’t trying to April fools ya and drop the ball on Mani Monday! After a full weekend of birthday and Easter shenannigans, I had quite a bit of catching up to do today.
I always find that when I put the blog first, I end up doing posts hurried and I don’t enjoy it. But now that I’ve done all my errands and my house is clean, I can actually write my post in a relaxed state. Best of all, I got to take my time with my mani and do something fun instead of rush and screw it up!
Today I decided to do something inspired by something I saw on Pinterest. However, I didn’t even look at the inspiration beforehand. I just knew that a tooth pick and a white basecoat was involved. Sometimes I like winging it.
I chose springy colors since I missed the boat on an Easter mani. I really wanted to do one, but I was just too busy. I went for pastel pink, lavender, and mint green. All my favorites
As I said, I started with a white base, dropped a few drops of nail polish on the white after it dried, took a toothpick and swirled it around, and voila!
This didn’t really turn out quite like I expected. It’s less swirly and more paint splatter looking to me. But I actually really like it. Sometimes designs don’t need to be so perfect.
This is a great design if you don’t have the steadiest hand too. Mistakes don’t show up because it’s all swirled around. This design is so refreshing to me because each nail is totally different.
See? Here’s my other hand.
I think next time I would try to make it look a little more swirly. Some of my nails look a little too much like baby octupi…
And before I forget – Maureen @ Breaking Free & Finding Me won the Mani Monday giveaway! So glad another Mani Monday-er got to win some goodies! Email me your address & I’ll get that right over to you.
