Scenes from the Weekend { 9/9/13 }

Hey, guys!

Hope you had a good weekend. I ended up being pretty stressed over the weekend :( I’ve been having some breathing issues that I’ve never had before, and it gives me a lot of anxiety. I have an appointment for it tomorrow, so hopefully something gets figured out.

I also had to work this weekend. The more my weekends include just a little bit of work, the more I feel like I never really get time to relax. So unfortunately, this weekend was filled with quite a bit of anxiety & uneasiness for me. But it’s a new day!

Chillin' with my tea

I had a slow morning so far that started with a bowl of oatmeal and a hot cup of tea. It got really chilly last night – like I was legit cold. So a hot breakfast and chilling in bed for a while sounded perfect.

Recent Workouts

Workouts have been hit or miss lately because of said breathing issues. A couple of days last week were pretty bad, and I just had to give up on my workout. It was so weird because that never happens to me, but I just had to accept it. I ran 3 miles today and felt alright, though.

Tuesday - tried a strength workout, but was out of breath & felt dizzy so I stopped one set in :(

Wednesday - felt a little better, did this POP Sugar all over toning workout & 20 minutes on the elliptical

Thursday - felt loads better; ran 2 miles and tried Zumba for the first time with a friend! I will definitely be going to that class again. Super fun & a good workout.

Friday - arms video & quick 3 sets of bicycle crunches, sit ups, and plank holds

Saturday - unplanned rest day

Sunday - real rest day

Monday - 3 mi run

I mentioned last week that I was going to be making a workout schedule. Well, that has totally not happened. I just winged it for the first few days of September, but by the time I got around to sitting down to make the schedule, it was one of the days I had to give up on my workout. I felt no motivation in creating a hardcore workout plan if I couldn’t even finish the days strength workout that is otherwise easy for me.

So, I think I’m just going to be okay with winging it for a while until I figure out what’s going on. I don’t want to push myself if it’s not safe.

Weekend Scenes

Nothing too exciting happened this weekend, but here’s a couple of shots of what I was up to.

Pups playing

We watched Beans’ best friend, a Frenchie named Doc, for a day. This is basically what they do the entire time they’re together: nonstop playing.

Italian

We went out for Italian for date night on Saturday. I got fettuccine alfredo and the hubs got eggplant parmesan. I haven’t gotten alfredo in ages, so it was basically amazing. Thinking of having the leftovers for lunch!

Questions for You:

  • Has it gotten chilly in your neck of the woods yet? I was so surprised by how cold I was this morning!
  • What does your typical Monday look like?

Comments

  1. Well, the breathing issues certainly don’t sound like any fun! I hope you get that straightened out right away!

The cooler weather is definitely rolling into our area. The evenings are super chilly, but it’s still warm during the day.

    Feel better!

  2. I really hope your breathing gets better <3 I have exercise induced Asthma, and though it only happens during running in the cold, I can't imagine not knowing what the problem is. Hope you find out fast and are able to feel better.
Enjoy your day cuddling up and relaxing! It sounds like you really could use a break, so make sure you give yourself one!

    • Thanks, Heather :) I feel like I have Asthma, although I’ve never had it, so I can’t really be sure. I thought maybe I was developing exercise induced Asthma, but it happens when I’m not exercising too, so I’m not sure. Hopefully I have some info to report soon!

  3. I hope you can figure out what’s wrong quickly. That’s got to be scary not knowing what is causing it.

You dinners look delicious! I especially love eggplant Parmesan!

  5. Aww I hope you can figure up what’s wrong with your breathing! I had asthma as a child, grew out of it, and recently have been having trouble with it again in the past few years. My inhaler really helps when I’m having issues or it is cold outside. Hopefully they can find something that works for you! Good luck!

  6. I am so sorry about your breathing. :( I hope you figure out what is bothering you. I am glad you are listening to your body and not pushing yourself too much in your workouts.

The weather here in Texas definitely isn’t getting cold yet. Today was either in the high 90′s or about 100 degrees. So feel free to send some cool weather this way. :) My typical Monday involves me getting up early to workout, going to school, and relaxing/cooking/cleaning at home that afternoon and night.

  7. I’ve developed breathing problems and asthma over the years and have had to find ways to cope during exercise. :-((
I hope it’s an easy fix and you are back up and running soon. Good luck!

It’s was a little cooler this weekend (especially in the mornings), but this week has been back in the 80′s!

  8. Aw, no :-( I’m so sorry about your breathing problems. I get anxiety, too, so I can imagine how the breathing problems would exemplify that. I hope your week picks up and you’re feeling much better today! Smile and be happy… God is good!

  9. I hate that about your breathing… sometimes after I run I feel wheezy… but I am not sure what causes it.
I am thankful that the program that I follow maps out my workouts for me! ;)

  10. I’m right around the corner from you (in Southern New Hampshire,) so I know the cold you’re talking about! I can’t believe that it’s supposed to be in the 90′s today (Wednesday) after having lows around 40. No wonder my allergies are acting up.

Mondays are never the same for me. Some Mondays The Man is home, others he isn’t, so it really depends on what his work schedule is and what we need to get done. Sometimes we go grocery shopping, sometimes we laze around all day, sometimes we’re busy working on our trucks from the moment we wake up to the second we lay down. I’m getting used to the alternating schedule he has. It keeps things interesting.
