Weekend & Anniversary Dinner

Hey guys! How ya been?

I had a really fun weekend this past week. I went to a food festival Saturday and got lots of stuff off my to do list. On Sunday, I finally got a un in. It’s been pretty hard to get back in workout groove after my vacation, but I got a good 5 miles in in prep for my 10K this Sunday.

The view on my run was gorgeous!

And no, I didn’t edit that picture. Nature is really just that colorful. I love it!

Then after that, I spent the day at a beach with some friends.

The view in the top picture is the Boston skyline. Makes Boston look so small! I definitely need to be making more beach trips this summer!

Yesterday was my two year anniversary! It’s weird because it seriously feels like yesterday that we were doing this :)

Wedding Day, June 16, 2012

I think this is one of my favorite wedding photos because it really reflects us as a couple. I love that we laugh together! It’s been an amazing two years. I’m so blessed!

Since we just went on vacation and went out all weekend, we agreed to have a low-key night in for our anniversary. And plus, it was on a Monday. I don’t really go out on Mondays 😉

Hubby took care of all the details and made me dinner and dessert. We had grilled Cajun chicken, green beans and homemade au gratin potatoes that were sooooo good.

Anniversary Dinner

Definitely a good meal! I love that he can cook.

Then for dessert we had his “famous” creme brulee. It’s better than any creme brulee I’ve had in a restaurant.

Homemade creme brulee

He uses real vanilla bean to make them, so it’s so tasty. We thought since it was our 2 year anniversary, we would each eat two of them, but we pooped out and got full after only one. They’re very rich!

And he got me a sweet gift that I wasn’t expecting.

Anniversary gift

Maybe these things seem kind of random, but it’s all of my favorite things: something sweet (jelly beans), notebooks (obsessed), a new book that looks really good (yay!), and of course a Yankee Candle! Thanks, dear :)

Have a happy Tuesday!

  2. Happy Anniversary! My husband is a great cook as well and I love it! He makes an incredible mac ‘n cheese with bacon from scratch that is quite indulgent. A bowl of that along with a bottle of wine and some good tv is our favorite date night in :)

    • He’s really good at all the more tedious dishes that I love to eat but don’t have the paitence to make. Pizza and ice cream is perfect to me too! Now I’m hungry…!

  4. Happy anniversary! My two year is coming up this August! Kind of crazy how the time goes by. That picture from your run is so pretty. I love date nights in – we generally go for some sort of takeout and either binging on our favorite TV show or movie. Just time spent together with our pups is always a wonderful thing.
